1. Provide a Service Offer your $5 service on Fiverr!
Editing/Proofreading: Provide a service to edit people’s essays or books. You can charge $20 an hour to start and as you get repeat customers start charging more. Or market on Fiverr, say $5 per page of proofreading, or market yourself at your own price with a Craigslist Ad or fliers.
Web design: This is what my Freelance Business is and anyone can do it if you learn how to make professional and functional websites. My online course on how to start a Freelance Web Design Business covers all of this to get you started.
2. Provide Information
Online Courses: Just as I have done, make an online course yourself. Think of what your strengths are that not many other people possess or what people tell you you are good at and make a course on that. Teachable allows you to easily have your own website and course while Udemy is a platform that hosts and markets your course, but takes a larger cut of your sales.
Tutor in a subject you excel in: Did you know that tutors who work for a big company tutoring make about $20 an hour and that the company charges the customer you are tutoring $40-$100? So market yourself and be your own boss. It is not that hard to get a tutor gig once you make a Craigslist Ad, put fliers around schools and libraries, and tell families and friends to spread your service by word of mouth.
3. Sell a Product
Fiverr: Anything can be sold on Fiverr. For a base price of $5 make a posting of something that makes sense for you to sell and ship for just $5 and Fiverr has tons of users that can find and buy it on there.
Etsy: Another great site that specializes in selling homemade goods. If you make awesome homemade jewelry, wooden boxes, or whatever try to sell it on Etsy where people are looking to buy cool homemade goods.
